FS: Vintage Wakmann REF 817 Chrono Lemania 1872 Seviced

Brand: Wakmann / Lemania Reference 817

Model: Ref 817 Chronograph

Movement: Lemania 1872, manual-wind

1960's - 1970's

Condition: In excellent cosmetic condition, Just had a full professional overhaul this week

Beautiful variant of the Wakmann Ref 817 with large white sub dials on black face. Has the very sought after Ghost Bezel where the black has faded but the numerals are all visible. Although different from the more common Ref 817, the movement and dial combination is correct to the lemania 1872 making this one of very few. This watch has amazing wrist presence and you will not not see many of these in the wild if at all lately. All functions work perfectly and all parts are original. Has the appropriate crosshatch crown. Just fully overhauled by my watchmaker in NYC and running perfectly. All chrono functions working like new. Crystal is in excellent condition without barely any scratches and none visible. All stainless steel case and caseback is in excellent condition. Case has not been polished and some light scratches caseback has a couple of scratches. Please look at photos closely to confirm condition. Extremely hard to find in this condition. I reserve the right to cancel the auction at anytime to sell through other sites. Please email me if you have any questions. Local Face to face pickup considered in seller determined secure location only. Asking $3,800 Or best offer (Paypal fees and shipping paid by buyer). Email me for additional photos or questions.

This watch uses the exact same case and movement, designated the '817', as a number of well-known Lemania military chronographs, including the legendary "Viggen" made for the Swedish Air Force (SwAF) and a model made for the South African Air Force (SAAF).

The movement, is the well known Lemania 1872 with 17 jewels which runs at a speed of 21.600

- The case is in very good condition with the original bevels still intact. The bezel is still in good shape.

- The caseback has some scratches

- The Crystal is in excellent condition

- The dial and hands are very nice and have not been touched.

- The original crown and pushers work.

- Comes with Blue Nato Style Strap with buckle
