FS: Vintage Omega ref. 145.014 Speedy Mark II Chrono RACING

Back up for sale to fund another purchase is this classic early 1970s Omega Speedmaster Professional Mark II with super-cool high contrast “Exotic/Racing” dial. This rare dial is Mint and is a modern Luminova replacement, as are the hands. Overall, the watch itself is in Very Good used condition and the movement was last serviced in 2007.

The price for this great Vintage Omega Speedy Mark II is $1,550 USD OBRO including Paypal and worldwide shipping. Bank Wire is also OK, of course, and always appreciated. Payment must be made in US DOLLARS. Watch will ship upon full clearance of the funds, as well as any necessary bank vetting.

CASE: Large 41 x 45mm tonneau case has never been polished and shows it’s original radial finish to the top, satin sides and crisp polished chamfer. This watch is no safe queen and shows scratches and a couple of dings commensurate with almost 40 years of use. Overall, Good to Very Good unpolished vintage condition.

CASEBACK: The outer caseback has several scratches and some smoothing from wear but the Hippocampus, Seamaster & Omega symbol are still quite legible. Externally, Good to Very Good. The inner caseback is completely corrosion-free and has the correct reference number.

DIAL & HANDS: Absolutely mint genuine Omega Luminova replacement dial in high impact gray, orange & burgundy “Racing” layout. All-correct hands are Excellent with some minor paint loss here and there and are likewise Luminova. Of course, this means the luminous parts of the dial and hands glow like a green torch when exposed to light for full functionality. Fluorescent orange chronograph hands show zero fading.

CROWNS & PUSHERS: Signed Omega winding crown and pushers were all replaced at the 2007 service and are Near Mint. The large crown winds and pulls out to the time-setting position as it should. The top pusher stops and starts the chronograph as it should and the bottom pusher resets the chrono as designed.

CRYSTAL: Unique flat mineral crystal with inner printed Tachymeter scale is Near Mint to Excellent with only a couple of very hard to see minor scratches.

MOVEMENT: Legendary Omega cal. 861 chronograph movement. As stated above, I last had the watch serviced in 2007. As can be seen in the pictures, there are remnants of surface corrosion to some of the parts, which of course were cleaned at service. However, all chronograph and time-keeping functions operate flawlessly, so these “scars” appear to be entirely cosmetic in nature.

BRACELET/BAND: Vintage full-length ref. 1162-173 bracelet with modern signed Omega buckle. These modern buckles are thinner than the originals so I have had to bend the sides a bit to widen it so that it will sit flush when sized to my 7.25” wrist. So the bracelet is Very Good and the clasp is merely Good due to my “customization.” My guess is that it will fit up to an 8” wrist, as it is quite long.

I make NO guarantees for the water resistance of this watch in any way, shape or form due to its age and the dodgy water resistance of most vintage chronos in general.

This great Vintage Omega is offered with a 3-day inspection period from the date of receipt and may be returned for a full refund less any shipping costs incurred by the buyer. This refund is unconditional and once I get the watch back in exactly the same condition as it was sent to you, your money will be refunded. Of course, once the 3 days are over the sale will be considered FINAL.

Thanks for looking,
