A forum for identifying and avoiding wholly or partially non-authentic wristwatches --
including counterfeit, replica, Frankenwatches and other fake or bastardized pieces.
Our objective here is to DISCOURAGE the sales and purchase of counterfeit
wristwatch and jewelry products. It is also for helping people identify
watches that are mostly authentic, but have been: altered for personal customization,
repaired with inappropriate parts or modified to be passed off as more valuable pieces.
Including a photo of the piece you are talking about ALWAYS helps! You can learn how to post a photo here: How To Include Photos In Your Postings. 'For sale' postings, commercial solicitation and ads are not allowed. Links to Internet auctions are acceptable only if their purpose is to question the authenticity of a product or provide new clues for identifying counterfeit products. Links that appear to be 'shills' promoting the sale of counterfeit products will be deleted. Links to websites of sellers of counterfeit items are not permitted -- we know they are out there and do not need to be encouraging them by sending traffic to their sites. I also want feedback on the Watchery, and I'll share my experience to date. I just ordered a Chopard Happy Diamond watch. They offered me free next-day shipping. The next day they called and said that the watch (the last one left) failed their water resistant test due to a small crack in the outer crystal. They are going to send it to Chopard for repair, rather than have their watchmakers work on it (I hear Chopard has complicated works). Or, I could cancel the order. They won't charge my credit card until the watch is fixed and ready to ship. I was impressed that they would call me about it instead of just shipping it and hoping I didn't notice the flaw, and that they woul send it to Chopard for repair (if that's true), since I assume Chopard would spot a fake. Overall, this seems like an elaborate scenario for a shady dealer to make up, and I can't see the point of making it up, so I'm assuming they're legitimate for now but would appreciate feedback.
