: I just got a gift watch Patek Philippe from a
: relative and i am embarrased to ask if the
: watch is genuine or fake.
A Patek watch is going to be a $5,000-15,000 or more watch. Is this relative someone who could possibly have given you a gift worth that much?
: it has a serial No: 5ATM No.438
That is not a serial number. 5ATM is a water resistance rating of 5 atmospheres. 1 ATM = 35 feet, so 5 ATM is a water resistance of about 175 feet. The other is probably a style number.
: the 24 hour dial does not appear to be working
: or is not accurate
That is a common sign of a fake--nonworking extra features.
