A forum for identifying and avoiding wholly or partially non-authentic wristwatches --
including counterfeit, replica, Frankenwatches and other fake or bastardized pieces.
Our objective here is to DISCOURAGE the sales and purchase of counterfeit
wristwatch and jewelry products. It is also for helping people identify
watches that are mostly authentic, but have been: altered for personal customization,
repaired with inappropriate parts or modified to be passed off as more valuable pieces.
Including a photo of the piece you are talking about ALWAYS helps! You can learn how to post a photo here: How To Include Photos In Your Postings. 'For sale' postings, commercial solicitation and ads are not allowed. Links to Internet auctions are acceptable only if their purpose is to question the authenticity of a product or provide new clues for identifying counterfeit products. Links that appear to be 'shills' promoting the sale of counterfeit products will be deleted. Links to websites of sellers of counterfeit items are not permitted -- we know they are out there and do not need to be encouraging them by sending traffic to their sites. I am very sad to share this, but the creator of this wonderful website and set of forums, Derek Ziglar, died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head on Saturday, May 29, 2005 (confirmed by the New Mexico Suicide Survivors Support Group at 800-432-5239). Derek is survived by Ms. Stella Ziglar and by both parents, Mr. and Mrs. Jim and Martha Ziglar, of Atlanta, Georgia.
Our heartfelt sympathies and prayers go out to Derek’s wife, Stella, his mother and father, Jim and Martha, to the rest of his family, and to his many friends, admirers and supporters in Santa Fe, New Mexico and Atlanta, Georgia, as well as around the country and world.
In addition to his deep love and thoughtfulness for his family and friends, Derek gave himself freely and caringly to anyone in need of help with any of his many areas of expertise. Derek genuinely loved to help people. His great intellect, wit and thoughtfulness will be sorely missed – Derek will be missed. He truly made a difference.

A search on “Derek Ziglar” plus “chronograph” yields many links to his posts on his passion for chronographic watches.
