including counterfeit, replica, Frankenwatches and other fake or bastardized pieces.
Our objective here is to DISCOURAGE the sales and purchase of counterfeit
wristwatch and jewelry products. It is also for helping people identify
watches that are mostly authentic, but have been: altered for personal customization,
repaired with inappropriate parts or modified to be passed off as more valuable pieces.

'For sale' postings, commercial solicitation and ads are not allowed. Links to Internet auctions are acceptable only if their purpose is to question the authenticity of a product or provide new clues for identifying counterfeit products. Links that appear to be 'shills' promoting the sale of counterfeit products will be deleted. Links to websites of sellers of counterfeit items are not permitted -- we know they are out there and do not need to be encouraging them by sending traffic to their sites. My mate just brought me this watch back from Hong Kong, (knowing I like Omegas and James Bond films he thought I'd be amused by it)
It cost him the equivalent of $36, and it's scarily accurate. I think I could put this on Ebay as real and fool someone. I thought I'd post pics just to say "be careful out there" to potential purchasers.
The differences between this and a real one are in the small details really. The overall finish and quality is nothing like as good as a real one, the edges are sharper and squarer, and the carved lugs are not as smooth as you'd like, but you have to have examined a real one to know this. Other giveaways are the lack of a serial number on the case back, the sides of the bracelet are not polished, the bracelet links are screw-in (and not very well fitting at that) instead of the pressed in type, and there is laser engraving where there should be carving on the bracelet. Also the bracelet ends are not right and the case is thicker. About the only giveaway you'd notice from the front of the watch is the 3 o'clock position (no marker) and the date window position and datewheel font, which are completely wrong.
