: The absence of a serial number is not significant, the 625 didn't
: have a visible one either. Comparing the photos - eBay and the
: other site, I think that the Dalor site has the technically
: better photo but both of of the same model.
: Looking at the seller, his rep is OK and he has sold 4,000 odd
: pieces - I would not worry about him.
: I think you have a genuine Omega. Have a good night's sleep :)
Gary and Glenn: thanks for your time
On the movement: this one has a 684 automatic movement, on the Dalor site you will notice that there are numbers on it and also what my 684 has: the omega sign above 684. so there is a difference.
on the case: on the dalor site that watch has another band: the middle part of the attachement to the case is smaller than on my watch. Also the numbers in the clasp differ but that would be normal ( if they where the same that would be incorrect and indicating a fake band)
What worries me was the quality glass (could be replacement non original) difference in case and band, and no serial number on an otherwise signed movement.
the seller responded he needed time to do a check on the origin and repeated it is genuine. I believe I can trust him but that does not mean he can not be mistaken. ALL pictures I have seen from this watch (including the omega site itself when searching for 684 movements in stainless steel) have a different case/band combination then mine.
what worries me less is this: Why woulds someone spend so much energy to fake a watch of roughly 500$ at that time.
any further discussion is welcome, regards
Willem
