Our objective here is to DISCOURAGE the sales and purchase of counterfeit
wristwatch and jewelry products. It is also for helping people identify
watches that are mostly authentic, but have been: altered for personal customization,
repaired with inappropriate parts or modified to be passed off as more valuable pieces.
Including a photo of the piece you are talking about ALWAYS helps! You can learn how to post a photo here: How To Include Photos In Your Postings. 'For sale' postings, commercial solicitation and ads are not allowed. Links to Internet auctions are acceptable only if their purpose is to question the authenticity of a product or provide new clues for identifying counterfeit products. Links that appear to be 'shills' promoting the sale of counterfeit products will be deleted. Links to websites of sellers of counterfeit items are not permitted -- we know they are out there and do not need to be encouraging them by sending traffic to their sites. Got a second hand Seamaster Auto 2531.80. Everything seems to tally. Checked serial number with Omega and it matches watch and year of manufacture. Country it was originally sold in matches documentation (traces to main dealer/agent in that country, though stamp from a different shop). Watch looks right too, passes all checks I have found from googling.
Except one thing may or may not match. The case back looks different to that shown on one site http://www.pmwf.com/Watches/ARTICLES/TwoOmegaSeamaster/A%20real%20and%20a%20fake%20Omega%20compared.htm
Now that had me convinced I got duped, until I googled some images of other 2531.80 case backs and they seemed to match with mine. e.g. http://www.rolexreferencepage.com/seamaster/bondreview.html
The watch I have was produced in 2006, is it possible that Omega used different case backs in earlier watches? Or even better anybody here with a genuine store bought 2531.80 can confirm this is the same/different.

Luminescence on dial bright and lasting. Weighed watch and it weighs 160gm (including strap) - I see the official weight is different, but I am guessing depends on the number of links on the strap??
