No, don't worry, the website has misunderstood how watches work basically!
Where the watch has an automatic or manual movement, the second hand usually moves round at a constant rate. If the movement is quartz, however, then it will move from second to second in discrete movements, much as you describe your watch.
I'm not familiar with Movados, but a quick look at a few on their website all turned up quartz movements, so your watch is behaving as it should.
