Hi there,
I've never owned a 'nice' watch before and noticed these two come up at what i consider an okay price. Having done my research I've come to the conclusion these are either real but at least one is a frankenwatch.. now it's not being passed off as 100% perfect so I don't mind - but I'd still like to know what I'm getting.
This is a ranchero. The movement and such seem okay to me (at least I've compared with about 20 other images I was able to find). We know it doesn't have the original crown (non-branded) as is indicated by the seller, however I noticed the hands don't appear to be the same as the other photos I've seen. Anyone care to lend an opinion on this as I really like the design but I like it more with the original hands :).. don't mind pay maybe 100-200 bucks for one with changed hands as I'm not a die hard collector.
This is a blue face seamaster. The only thing I can pick on this is that I'm not sure if the glass (of the face) should be so much out from the body (i.e. i get the impression from other photos it's meant to be more flush?)
Any thoughts would be appreciated. I was hoping to score both for a couple of hundred bucks originally but since then their price has gone up and while I really like the design, don't mind a -little- franken-ing (as they've got some history, rather than being churned out from a franken-factory) but I'd still like to know where I stand. Any ideas on prices if you've bought one and any comments etc would be greatly appreciated. Hoping one of these -might- be my first Omega - just want to make sure it really is :)
