Counterfeit Watchers Discussion Forum

A forum for identifying and avoiding wholly or partially non-authentic wristwatches -- including counterfeit, replica, Frankenwatches and other fake or bastardized pieces. Our objective here is to DISCOURAGE the sales and purchase of counterfeit wristwatch and jewelry products. It is also for helping people identify watches that are mostly authentic, but have been: altered for personal customization, repaired with inappropriate parts or modified to be passed off as more valuable pieces.

Including a photo of the piece you are talking about ALWAYS helps! You can learn how to post a photo here: How To Include Photos In Your Postings. 'For sale' postings, commercial solicitation and ads are not allowed. Links to Internet auctions are acceptable only if their purpose is to question the authenticity of a product or provide new clues for identifying counterfeit products. Links that appear to be 'shills' promoting the sale of counterfeit products will be deleted. Links to websites of sellers of counterfeit items are not permitted -- we know they are out there and do not need to be encouraging them by sending traffic to their sites. Privacy, additional policies and administrivia are covered in the Terms of Use.

Is tis real *PIC*

Today I purchased a Seamaster 300M profeesional.

The watch was bought from an authorized dealer listed online. He provided me with warranty card, chronometer and ico cards with matching serial numbers

I am writing because my brother has this same watch and the watch that I just acquired varies in a few ways.

First on the back of the casing on top of the seamaster animal engraving and the waves around it there is an additional engraving of an omega logo enclosed in a small globe. This engraving is located on the rim that is outside the waves. My brother's watch does not have such an engraving and I have not been able to locate a watch that does on the web.

Second the 825 engraving on the bracelet is located on the middle of the bracelet, while on my brother's it is located on right side of the bracelet and the engraving is much smaller

Third the waves on my watch due not stick out nearly as much as on my brother's watch

Fourth, there seems to be a scratch all around the wave engraving on the rear casing.

Fifth on the bracelet links close the clasp my watch has the following engraving GAG while his has JAI.

As well my bracelet links have arrows close to the casing while his has arrows close to the clasp.

Finally the watch's serial number are located very close to each other but not exactly in the same place.

Could you please inform whether the watch that I enquired is authentic.
