Counterfeit Watchers Discussion Forum

A forum for identifying and avoiding wholly or partially non-authentic wristwatches -- including counterfeit, replica, Frankenwatches and other fake or bastardized pieces. Our objective here is to DISCOURAGE the sales and purchase of counterfeit wristwatch and jewelry products. It is also for helping people identify watches that are mostly authentic, but have been: altered for personal customization, repaired with inappropriate parts or modified to be passed off as more valuable pieces.

Including a photo of the piece you are talking about ALWAYS helps! You can learn how to post a photo here: How To Include Photos In Your Postings. 'For sale' postings, commercial solicitation and ads are not allowed. Links to Internet auctions are acceptable only if their purpose is to question the authenticity of a product or provide new clues for identifying counterfeit products. Links that appear to be 'shills' promoting the sale of counterfeit products will be deleted. Links to websites of sellers of counterfeit items are not permitted -- we know they are out there and do not need to be encouraging them by sending traffic to their sites. Privacy, additional policies and administrivia are covered in the Terms of Use.

Update Re Server Issues / Blank Pages

Readers and Writers:

I wanted to provide a quick update regarding the server / blank screen issues that we have been facing over the last couple of weeks, on all of our Forums. These problems have been a real inconvenience for all of us, and I want to apologize for all the trouble that our readers have endured, as we have attempted to resolve the issues.

So here's the update:

  • We hope to be switching to a new hosting company / new server, within the next few days. This should be seamless / invisible for our readers, and you will use the same address, links, bookmarks, etc. We hope that the only visible difference will be the blazing fast response times on the new server!!

  • Passwords should not be affected by the switchover to the new server.

  • There is always some small chance of catastrophic failure, so if there is any message or information that is absolutely critical to you, it might be a good idea to make a copy now.

  • Please make note of the address for our emergency Bulletin Board -- http://www.network54.com/Forum/120110/. This Link should take you to the emergency Bulletin Board. Please copy down the URL, put it in your bookmarks / shortcuts, write it on the back of your hand, etc. If something goes wrong with the Chronocentric Forums, we will communicate through this emergency Bulletin Board.

Thanks to everyone for their patience. It's not easy to transfer nine years worth of messages to a new location, but we believe that we are almost there!! After we have completed this migration, we will look forward to introducing some new Discussion Forums and some new features . . . and starting to have some fun again!!

Thanks!!

Jeff
