Counterfeit Watchers Discussion Forum

A forum for identifying and avoiding wholly or partially non-authentic wristwatches -- including counterfeit, replica, Frankenwatches and other fake or bastardized pieces. Our objective here is to DISCOURAGE the sales and purchase of counterfeit wristwatch and jewelry products. It is also for helping people identify watches that are mostly authentic, but have been: altered for personal customization, repaired with inappropriate parts or modified to be passed off as more valuable pieces.

Including a photo of the piece you are talking about ALWAYS helps! You can learn how to post a photo here: How To Include Photos In Your Postings. 'For sale' postings, commercial solicitation and ads are not allowed. Links to Internet auctions are acceptable only if their purpose is to question the authenticity of a product or provide new clues for identifying counterfeit products. Links that appear to be 'shills' promoting the sale of counterfeit products will be deleted. Links to websites of sellers of counterfeit items are not permitted -- we know they are out there and do not need to be encouraging them by sending traffic to their sites. Privacy, additional policies and administrivia are covered in the Terms of Use.

Seamaster Bond bracelet real or fake.

I just received the new Bond Seamaster bracelet I won on ebay from a seller with 100% positive feedback and over 180 transactions. However, I'm concerned about the authenticity of the bracelet when I compare it to the original on my 2531.80. I've attached several pics and here are my conderns. It's the 1503/825 bracelet for the full size Seamasters including my 2531.80 which is on the right in the photo:
1) The lettering on the outside of the clasp is different than my original watch. Look at the first three letters of the word PROFESSIONAL.
2) The "825 stamp on my original is on the bottom of each end link and off to the side. On the new one, the "825 is in the middle.
3) The bracelet part number and Omega logo is on the underside of the clasp on my original and on the side that touches your wrist when the clasp is closed. On the new one, it's not visible. I haven't opened the package yet, but in the seller's picture in the auction, it shows the part number (it's blurred) on the opposite side of the clasp and the clasp has to be opened to see it.
4) The notches on the underside of the solid end links (to insert the removel tool) of the new bracelet are longer than on my original.

I'm not discounting the possibility that in the 6 years since my watch was new, that Omega has changed the bracelets slightly. I just don't know. I've emailed the seller to ask if I can open the clear package (without voiding my right to send it back) to have my Omega dealer examine the bracelet more closely but he hasn't answered yet and my dealer is closed until this coming Tuesday.

Can I get some comments on the above anomolies and opinions on whether I have a real or fake bracelet? Thanks, guys.
