Hey everybody! I am new here and an almost Panerai owner, no thanks to a scam that I was a victim of.
I was looking to buy my first Panerai (pam 112), and reached out to the forums on Paneristi. I found a seller by the handle of JackPat, who sounded very sincere about selling his watch. I wire transferred the funds. It all went south from there.
He gave me a story about how he was in the hospital and that he would send it out in a few days. It sounded fishy, but I went with it. I then contacted him again, and he responded by asking me for more money. I instantly knew I was scammed. This put me out $3250 USD ($4200 CAD) For me, this is worth one and a half months salary. A very costly mistake.
I am just spreading the word so you can be on the lookout for this person, as I don't want this to happen to anybody else in the community.
He goes by the the handle of JackPat (firstname.lastname@example.org) and is selling a Panerai pam 112, as well as a Rolex 16710A GMT Master II Coke. Not sure if he was removed from the site, but I wanted to make it known to the community and moderators. I would hate for this to happen to someone else especially at this time of year.
