Repair a 510501

hi: I just found this site and would like some help. I have a Black 510501 (day,date) that has the numbers on the tach scratched off. Had the crystal replaced and came back this way (long story, a TAG dealer -- very bummed). Want to restore it back to "new". Recommendations?
