Great Question -- here is the start of an answer:
- when the code appears on a Heuer, it is "AOC"
- the code for Abercrombie was AFX and the code for Sears was SOX. [here is a nice clear example of the Sears marking, from a dashboard Autavia; you can see the Heuer and Abercrombie markings on the Movements page, linked below]
- Heuer seems to have stopped using the codes at a certain date, but I am not certain about this
- some pieces that are definitely Heuers do not have the code; perhaps it is only for pieces that were to be exported??
