: Can you make out any printing under the reprinted shield? Perhaps
: there was an initiative to brand these Skippers for another
: company - i.e. Zodiac or Tradition. Possible that instead of
: scrapping the dials, if the rebranding didn’t work out, they
: simply branded over. Similar to what we see with the Zodiac logo
: over the Heuer logos in some pieces. Or, perhaps the initial
: logo printing was flawed in some way, and again the over print
: was the solution to correct. My pure guess would be my 1st
: though. Would be interesting if any part or a initial logo or
: letters from a brand could be made out.
I have the overprinted Skipper dial and I would like to share these photos with you.
Under the "Big logo" there is a "Normal logo".
The theory of the service dial makes no sense for me. Service dials are often economical products, why spend money on a finished part?
If I only had a spare dial I would ask my watchmaker to clean it out...
Best
