Thanks Steve! Some Chips fans on the omega forum traced it to a Cimier Sport telemeter chrono from the 1950s. A very low budget watch with a single jewel.
Yes there was a few, he wore a Seiko a lot also, but this is the watch from the opening credits. Wonder what the story is there? It would've already been quiet old in the late 70's.
