Answering the question about where he sourced watches for his new book about racers and their watches, in Part One of the interview, Montanari offers an interesting perspective on Heuers of the 1960s and 1970s. He states --

I’ve found a few others at auction, particularly from Merzario. There are also Heuer watches. Actually…there was something I was scared about. If you only make a book on drivers and watches purely, it’s a book only on Heuer because during the 1970s, that’s what the drivers, particularly Formula 1 drivers, wore. I try to focus on other period such as the 20s, 30s, 40s and 50s.

An interesting acknowledgment about the dominance of Heuer, as worn by the racers in the 1960s and 1970s.
