I had undertaken to study this for Nico over the weekend, and you know how that went.
I have not had time to really dig into the comparable watches, catalogs, and serial numbers. At a quick glance, the 60xxx case serial number points to the mid-1940s, but the style of the dial (with the small luminous triangles) suggests 1950s. Of course, we do see Heuer mixing and matching over the years, but this would be pretty extreme.
My thinking is not yet settled, but if this is a Ref 2449 from the 1950s, then it's a derivative of the 2444 . . . and we might expect the pushers to be smaller.
In the 1942 catalog, we see the Ref 2455, but that seems too early for this dial.
Below are the 1942 and 1957 catalogs. I'm still studying this interesting watch. Key features are 14 KG case, rounded lugs and round pushers . . . that just doesn't give us a lot of choices.
To be continued . . .

: Check out the 1957 Heuer Chronograph catalog hosted on the
: onthedash main website. If your model is 14kt solid gold, then
: it is a 2449 reference; if it is 14kt gold plated then I think
: it is a 2444 reference (or maybe 2448... its not mentioned in
: the catalog).
: It looks all correct on first viewing. They are nice watches,
: definitely the grandfather of the Carrera.
