My dad has a 980.004 he bought new in the late 1970s. He'd like to have it refurbished - it works mechanically, although he says that the crown feels like it's not going to "catch" after you set the time/day/date (but then it does). I think it's probably a straightforward service job and then whatever cosmetic improvement can be done.
Any suggestions for doing this work in the U.S.? He could send off to TAG vintage repair in Switzerland, but seems like they're pretty jammed and I'm not sure that's really necessary here. But he does want quality work.
