I like to wear my vintage Heuer's every day and I rely on them. Typically I don't change the watch on my wrist for at least one week. 11 and 12 gain or loose within 30sec per week, not more. My 7736 is even more accurate.
Sorry I have no experience with watchmakers in UK. Hope your watchmaker finds the root cause and can fix it ... and you have fun with your new Carrera.
