Phil,
probably in Heuer use different but suitable case backs for different watch references. It was a practice used also in Rolex for the various cosmographs and submariners.
I hope you'll find your watch...how it's possible that UPS "lose" a watch...form me it's a simple way to say that has been "stolen"....
