I have found it very hard to sell.
I always had intention when I buy that I will sell something to balance up. But when it came to the crunch I could not sell. I knew I had the sickness when I bought a second, better condition Siffert with the intention of selling my first, worse condition one. But...but, but then I looked it and it was "you know the watch looks really different with the different hand styles, maybe I should have both..."..very bad path to go down.
End result obviously is stupid amount of watches and stupid cash outlay, so in the end I did have to sell. Criteria of when to sell is always wrist time and also PFW(t).
Of course, as you all know, PFW(t) is a probability density function which is the Potential Future Wrist time; you try and imagine how your taste could change in the future. It is a tricky one.
Anyone ever sold a watch then really regretted it and spend years trying to find a replacement?
Like I was always intending to sell my blue Montreal but never found a buyer, then somehow my tastes changed and now I have four montreals and they are one of my favourite models. Pleased I didn't sell. All my Camaros have gone.. don't regret it, but they are a cool model and not sure what I will think next year...or in 5 or 10 years...?
Any sob stories out there?
