Actually the hands are exactly the same size in length and width, I measured them. It is an optical illusion because of the wider lume section. I agree the "purple" dial hands looks bigger, but they are not.
I think there were two main styles of Monaco hands, or maybe it is that the lume widens and spreads as it ages. The blue cal15 has new hands from TAG-Heuer.
