Ron,
Bruce made a very good point. Old hands can be restored by re-painting them and applying the luminous on the back. Luminous is sold in different colors like white, green, yellow & orange.
Excuse me for asking you this, but does your question has anything to do with the Carrera from Mexico City currently for auction at eBay ?
My brother who lives in Mexico City and he made an inspection to that watch. I could share some comments with you if interested. Let me know.
: hi ron
: i'm not sure i understand your question exactly
: but, is it that the luminous material has
: fallen out of the hand? when this happens a
: hole is left as the luminous is painted into
: the hole in the hands from the back.
: the luminous can be reapplied by a good
: watchmaker and they should be able to match
: the original colour if you ask.
