Hi everyone,
I have had some dealings with the ebay seller 'watchco-australia ' who are offering these 'fakes' and they were a very professional company and some of their stock is very good, original Speedmaster cases and the like so it seems weird that they would be miss-representing them.
Just a thought.

: Here is where some of the unusual-looking fakes
: and frankens may be originating. Have a look
: at these ebay auctions . . . a variety of
: pillow-shaped Autavias and mis-matched
: Montreals and even some that have no
: name at all .
: Notice that some are described as "factory
: rejects", with scratches and slight
: imperfections in the finish / pollish. Could
: this be correct or merely an excuse for the
: poor quality of the reproduced cases?
: Can anyone solve this mystery, once and for
: all?
: Should we have a contest -- give everyone one
: of these cases / dial sets, and see who can
: come up with the craziest looking
: "prototype"? Extra points for also
: creating the most convincing history / story
: to accompany the watch. GRAND PRIZE =
: two-pound bag of M&M's, plain or peanut.
