I agree that there is likely a softening of bids given the current energy situation and uncertain outlook. The watches we like are sort of a luxury and purchase can be postponed if necessary. eBay is a good indicator of the direction of watch prices since it is so dynamic. If bids go south then the retail sellers will have to follow as nothing is worth more than the amount another is willing to pay.
If you are considering selling you can hold fast or reduce your expectations. If you are buying and are patient then oppourtunity may strike. Either way it is still a lot of fun.
P.S. Look at the bright side. Maybe we can someday again buy a Rolex Chronograph for $215
