No, it is a smooth transition. What you are seeing is a lighting artifact.

The only thing that looks different to me is the number indicators and the hands. On my watch they are slightly rasied as the old glow in the dark technology (radium) was diffrent than today. Do your Pasadenas have this. They look white to me in the pick, whereas on my watch they are that slightly yello/green color of radium.
