Thanks Jeff, please note this isn't my watch but a link to one that looks the same. I'm not in the position to upload a picture at present.
I'm still baffled as I'm surprised their are two watches that are the same. The strange wording to note is the spelling of Chronograph is actually Chronographe. I've looked at the movement which isn't signed but only marked with 17 Jewels. I had the mechanism checked out and was informed it was a vintage mechansim but I know that doesn't mean much. (I'm not in the UK so I have limited resources)
I'd like to get to the bottom of this, as I will consider returning the watch to the specialist I purchased it from.
