About a month or so ago I was looking through the watch stalls at theh Portobello Road markets in Notting Hill. A couple of interesting pieces (a Camaro in great condition) and a lot of pretty tired and battered old Heuers.
In one stall I cam across what looked to me to be a Pasadena/ 1000 Series Chronograph that had "Kentucky" on the dial. Thought this was a bit odd, as I checked "the on the dash" Kentucky page, but couldn't see any Kentucky model that looked like the one I saw.
Then a few days ago, this pops up on e-bay
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ih=008&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3AIT&viewitem=&item=180087957220&rd=1&rd=1
Now it could be the same watch that I saw in the markets, but I don't think so- it looks to be in better condition than the one I saw a few weeks back. Having said that, the Notting Hill Kentucky also had a german date..
So what is the verdict? Is this a correct Heuer Kentucky, or are there a few Frankenheuers doing the rounds...
Cheers
