Re: Heuer and the F1 Legends
In Response To: Heuer and the F1 Legends ()

: I think that one of the appeals of the Heuer
: brand is its connection to motorsport.
: And while I have a soft place in my heart for
: Jo Siffert, and respect Steve McQueen's
: sense of style, there's a huge roster of
: legendary F1 drivers once sponsored by
: Heuer.

: Juan Manuel Fangio (5 times world champion)
: Alain Prost (4 times)
: Ayrton Senna (3 times)
: Niki Lauda (3 times)
: Emerson Fittipaldi (2 times)
: Mika Hakkinen (2 times)
: Mario Andretti (1 time)
: Phil Hill (1 time)
: Jochen Rindt (1 time)
: Jody Scheckter (1 time)
: Gilles Villeneuve
: Jacky Ickx
: Clay Regazzoni
: Carlos Ruetemann
: Juan Pablo Montoya
: and
: Kimi Raikkonen, who won the first race of the
: post-Schumacher era a couple of weeks ago.

: I'm sure there are others I'm missing (Stirling
: Moss? Schumacher?) but the list above
: represents 22 world driving championships
: and hundreds of grand prix wins.
: Do we know (or care) which watches these guys
: wore?

: Might be an interesting addition to the site.

Kimi was a Tag Heuer sponsor, but has now been superceded by Alonso and Hamilton. Tag's F1 section still lists him, but other sections of the website have been updated. I'm sure he'll disappear shortly, due to the Tag/McLaren/Mercedes relationship.

Schumacher has been an Omega ambassador since 1997. Unclear if he'll remain one. Ferrari themselves have an official line of Officine Panerai watches. (drool)

One a side note, I noticed that post-race, Kimi was a wearing a 3 register chrono with a red face, but I could not identify what it was.
