i AGREE about going in the water.
Thats why its so important to protect it as best we can. If no refitting of new gaskets there will be No protection it it where exposded to water and or Steam damage.

But it is nice to be safe. as if washing your hands or a big down pour and or just got wet and did not mean it.

***And if the rubber is bad and turning to glue. May I ask how do you keep it working correctly with out sticking ect?

I know it takes time and time is $$. But lots of folks will still pay for a full service.
Still no warranty for water res. like org. But much safer.... and peace of mind for the owners.

I know The USA T.Heuer repair does this work.

I also know sometimes thay replace our nice vintage pushers and there not the same so thats no good to me.
I did not mean to get folks up set. Just stating it is very possible to do and should be done if there is any old gaskets in there that are gummy and or damaged..

Who cares if one wants to jump off a bridge or not do this or that. I will do whats correct.
