Re: BEARS Cap!
In Response To: Re: BEARS Cap! ()

: I won't hold that against you, Chuck.
: FWIW, I predicted that the Bears would win the
: superbowl, and the Colts overcame an 85
: percent metric--points allowed defense--to
: win.

The Bears could not have asked for more chance elements to go their way: Outdoors (vs. a Dome team), on Grass, in inclement weather. The Bears were beaten by a better team, they didn't have the game stolen from them by bad calls, or plain bad luck. The Colts deserve their victory and accolades.

Any year you make it to the Super Bowl beats any year you don't. Hopefully, like losing to the 49er's in the NFC Championship in 1984, the Bears will learn from the experience and become a better team. I just hope I get to see them in another Super Bowl before I'm gone!

: That's why they play the games.

The Bears knew that the Colts were a good team, they had not played their last 8 games of the year the way they had played the first 8 of the season. If the Bears could have brought their "September team" the outcome probably would have been different. But they didn't. No excuses, the better team won. Plain enough.

: Go Cubbies!
: Allen

It'd be nice to see a CTA series. I am not holding my breath though.

To the World Champion '08* Chicago Cubs! [*1908 that is]
