I have been looking for information on a watch I bought back around 1986-87. It is a two tone, gold and silver "Series 3000" (case ref# 234-206), and it looks similar to the one shown in the French and German chronograph catalogs (posted on Chuck's site). However, mine has "Heuer" on the face and crown - not "TAG Heuer". Also, the face colors are different. The bezel is gold colored and the face is silver with the smaller dials in gold.
After reading the history of the Heuer/TAG merge in 1985, it seems as though this might be one of those 'transition' watches (i.e., an older "Heuer" face in a 'new' TAG Heuer "Series 3000" model.
Is this a rare or collectable watch?
Thanks for your help!
