Shaun. There is indeed some noticable difference between your two 1533b Monaco's.
Personally I think Jeff is right about this. They all came out the factory with the blue dial and due to some other paint/finishing process some of them get more purple with aging.
The dial of my 1533 has some markings in the left corner above, this is due to unprofessional handling and is not natural patina. I'd say my dial is in between your two regarding the colour. Nice picture!!
