Engraving a classic - value add? *PIC*

My brother in law is a top-flight master engraver. He recently did his first watch (he built the manual movement from a kit!). I was wondering what the consensus was for this type of modification on a vintage Heuer. Needless to say, it reduces the intrinsic value if done on a classic - however, does it increase the "want to have" value? I was considering having him engrave my first edition re-issue Carrera - but not as embellished and with a more linear design as this example. Shameless Plug - his website is www.masterengraver.com and his name is Sam Alfano
