If you know the Monaco case you know that all the dials suffered under the gasket . I personally do not think any of the Steve McQueen Monaco Dials are still “original” . This one may be one of the first Monacos or a redial Chronomatic . But it looks real to me .
: Gentleman,
: I'm pretty sure almost all of you guys have
: spotted this Monaco on eBay, you'll find the
: link to the auction at the end of this
: message.
: As it is a Heuer Monaco I question myself if it
: is really authentic. Dial seems to be
: re-done, inscription on the back of the case
: "Tool No 33" and "Heuer"
: are likely to be engraved somewhat deeper in
: the case as usual. I do not have a
: "comfortable" feeling with this
: one.
: It's not that I'm considering to buy this one,
: but I would like some more thoughts of
: different people, maybe to learn a bit.
: Heuer has made so many questionable types of
: this Monaco...could this be such a
: "transitional" model or has there
: been done some re-dialing and re-finishing??
: I asked the seller some questions and I only
: received these pics:
