FWIW, I actually prefer leather straps too. I've got one on my daily wearer Speedy Pro (Just back from a service!) A watch on a bracelet feels like...well, a bracelet.
That said, my Siffert does generally reside on the bracelet it came with.

I do find it slightly mind blowing that Jerry Seinfeld would wear something that I can afford.
