Indeed, with all the discussion of "chocolate" Speedmasters, and "tropical" Submariners, I am of the view that a Monaco that has changed from "midnight blue" to "deep purple" has not gone "bad", but may have gotten better over time. Seems to me that if the color change is even across the dial (rather than blotchy or spotty) and the move is to a nice shade (rather than from blue to some muddy tan or brown), then the good may have gotten better!!
