Greetings from Australia all,
This amazing looking piece has just arrived in the post and I'm hoping this esteemed gathering might be able to provide some info on it......
It's a vintage Veglia "Average speed" guage.
It is about three and a half inches (8.5 cm) in diameter.
It was used in rallying; it came out of a rally car.
I understand Veglia supplied guages for the Italian cars, Ferrari, Alfa and Maserati. The font would date it to the '50's or '60's as a guess (??). Looks like it should be in the front of the navigator in a 250GT Tour De France !!
Has anyone seen one in an old racing supply catalogue?
Anyone seen one before (I hadn't). Any idea how to operate it- I'm not touching anything until I know!
Any info would be much appreciated!
Cheers
Stew.
