ebay has very strong policies against these types of communications. a friend of mine once sent a brief note to the seller of a 100% certain, known fake. my friend sent it through the ebay system; the seller reported him to ebay; ebay sent him a "nasty-gram". I imagine ebay would consider it an even worse violation to communicate with bidders.

bottom line: the most that we can do is hope that people read this forum or other websites before they place their bids.
