In simplest terms -- which happen to be the only terms I can use when talking about movements -- the base movement Valjoux 72 was modified into a 72C for the triple date chronographs [or maybe this is called the 723 -- ?? -- not too sure about this]. A different modification was used to power the Lunar / Tide dial in the Seafarer. But going back to your question, all these were generally called "Valjoux 72"s.
Some of the very early Seafarers (from early 1950's) were powered by the modified Valjoux 71; all the later ones were Valjoux 72.

YES -- this one, in the 2446C case, was powered by the Valjoux 72C (a variation of the Valjoux 72).
