I'm shopping for an Autavia, and I really like the look of the Viceroy models, not to mention the prices. A few questions:

a) Are there any differences in the movement or the dial finishing between the Viceroys and the regular Autavias? Or is the price lower simply because there are a lot of them out there?

Movements are identical; differences are in the dial and the hands; hard to say whether there is a real difference in quality. Heuer had to make some changes when they created the Viceroys -- the Viceroys were selling for $80; Heuer's long-standing customers (jewelry stores, etc.) had to be able to say that the ones they were selling for $200 were better. The were different, but who is to say which is better. They were coming out of the same factory, with very similar materials. Thirty years later, the Viceroys seem to be of excellent, enduring quality.

b) Is there an actual Viceroy logo (aside from the color scheme) anywhere on the watch?

NO -- no Viceroy logos on the watch or even the boxes, only in the advertisements.

c) The bezels seem to be a wear item--are replacements available and easily installed?

difficult to obtain; easy to install

d) What's a reasonable price for a Viceroy Autavia?

Prices have been very strong lately; the range seems to be $700 or $800 for a reasonable one to over $1500 for the "mint-in-box" version. Beaters seem to be in the $500 range lately.
