We have been using the term "Look-Alikes" other watches, that look like the Heuers but were not actually made by Heuer. The Belair GMT is one that comes to mind.
I'm not sure whether or not Heuer made these Vantages, but regardless of who made the watch, it's a beauty, with a great movement. I will see whether I might be able to learn more about any Heuer / Vantage connection.
Thanks for posting your message and this photo.

We have been defining a "Poor Man's Heuer" as a watch manufactured by Heuer, but sold under another brand name (for example, numerous Hamiltons, Aristos and Zodiacs).
: Poormans Carrera by Vantage with Valjoux 7733.
: Does this one qualify for the poormans
: reference page?? I just picked this one up
: on the popular auction site. I would enjoy
: finding out more about this watch. From what
: I know so far, Hamilton made watches for
: Vantage and then bought them out in the 70s.
: I have done a bit of research and I have
: discovered a very similar watch made by
: Buren and Breitling (same case and almost
: identical dial). Any additional information
: anyone could provide would be appreciated.
: Thanks,
: Lou
