Roon,
I have two Dato 45s both black dial, register @ 9) and the crowns are both blank. One I am absolutely sure is original, too, as I got the watch from the original owner, and he nevern changed it, or had the watch serviced. In fact, the watch has still never been serviced, and it keeps perfect time! He got the watch in 1970 (with a blank crown).
Just a point of interest, one of my Dato 45s simply says "swiss" at the bottom, and the other says "T-
Swiss". Anyone knowe when Dato 45s began/stopped using luminescence?
: Hi all,
: I posted a message yesterday but noticed today
: that it has disappeared somehow. can it be
: that it was covered by another message on
: the screen??
: Anyhow, the question was: Until what year has
: Heuer been supplying Carreras, Autavias with
: a blank crown? Without the Heuer logo I
: mean.
: I have one Autavia 45 with dauphine hands and
: one Carrera Dato 45 ( black+white, one
: subdial)with a blank crown. Got the Autavia
: from my father and known its original.
: Is is possible to determine the year of
: production with this info? I remember my
: father had the Autavia when I was 7 or 8
: years old. This means it must be 1965/1966.
: Could this be correct? By the way, the Carrera
: has exactly the same style subdial as the
: Autavia.
: Hope this message remains visible...
