Thanks for the interesting question.
Assuming that the Autavia is otherwise in decent condition (dial, in particular), this Autavia will be worth well more than the cost of the overhaul. In good condition -- cosmetically and mechanically -- they have been fetching around $1000 (plus or minus some amount that will probably not affect your analysis). Plus, as the original purchaser, you have the additional benefit / value of knowing that the watch is fully genuine and original.
Good luck with the overhaul / restoration, and let us know how it goes.
Below is a link to the section of OnTheDash.com that shows these Automatic Autavia GMTs.

: I bought an Heur wrist watch in the late 60s in
: the Bahamas. It is labeled on its face
: "Autavia GMT Chronograph" and is
: an auto wind model. It has stop watch and
: date features with stop and stop buttons on
: the right. Can anyone advise what this watch
: is worth? It is not operating and I have to
: have it rebuilt, so I am worrying about
: whether the long term value is worth the
: US$350 estimate that I received to
: recondition it.
: Thank you for your insight,
