I know the "market" for these pretty well, but an not a watchmaker.
If you can have a watchmaker check the mechanical condition, and post some close-up photos here (or send them to me) showing the cosmetic condition, I should be able to give you a good estimate of the "market value". The mechanical check is very important, as parts for the Hervues are scarce and they are notoriously difficult to repair or adjust. Still, if you have a good one, it will often be a good "runner". It's just that if you have a "bad" one, it will be difficult to repair.
By the way, my kids go to summer camp in Sugar Grove, Pennsylvania -- between Pittsburgh and Erie -- so maybe I can see it "in the metal" during a visit.
