I laughed when I first saw this version of the Skipper. Indeed, I could hardly believe that it was on display, in the TAG-Heuer Museum . . . we looked at the crazy colors; giggled about the idea of refinishing a Carrera dial, and putting the word "Skipper" across the top.
Then, returning to the US, I spoke with an expert who worked with Heuer at the time. I told him about this bizarre looking Skipper that had made its way into the Museum; he informed me that the very first Skippers were in Carrera cases, with bright orange and blue on the registers . . . Yes, we are confident that we know it all, until we come upon something that we didn't know!!
