: What a coincidence we have today -- Toni (in Sweden) has a new
: arrival, and I have a new arrival (from Sweden). Wow -- lot's
: happening over in Sweden lately!! [Actually, my arrival occured
: a couple of weeks ago, but the portraiture session was last
: night.]
: This one is consistent with my renewed interest in the chronographs
: of the 1940's and 1950's (pre-Carrera and pre-Autavia). I am
: determined to do some research to try to figure out the correct
: reference numbers for these watches. This is difficult, without
: a comprehensive set of catalogs.
: My best guess is that this one is Reference 2447, from the
: 1940's. It is powered by a Valjoux 72 movement; 13 ligne
: movement; so it is a close match to a chronograph shown in a
: catalog from 1945.
: Special thanks to Par for agreeing to a very gentlemanly trade . .
: . actually, this one was the first satisfying trade of my entire
: watch collecting career!! In the end, we didn't negotiate or go
: back and forth about the values . . . I liked this old watch
: (which he had) . . . he liked one of my watches . . . so we
: swapped, straight up. Maybe Par will post a photo of the one
: that he received . . . it's a Heuer chronograph, but of a
: diferent period and look!!
